How to landscape your gazebo

posted by crossteam

Landscaping is a great idea for enhancing the space around your gazebo. The first step in planning a landscape is to determine the space available for a garden gazebo. You should then decide about your desired gazebo. All this will be helpful to you in planning the design of the garden gazebo and its location.

A gazebo can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. If the design of gazebo is symmetrical, it is easy to plan the garden layout. The plants and paths around a gazebo on both the sides are same. When the gazebo is asymmetrical, it is placed in one portion of the garden. The garden placement starts from the position of the gazebo. You can start the landscaping by planning what should be the plants and structures to be placed near the gazebo. Then, decisions have to be taken about what to place in the perimeter of the garden. Large plants should not be placed too close to the gazebo. The plants positioned near the gazebo should not have a very high growth. Their height should not exceed one third of the tallness of the garden gazebo.  A garden gazebo should have a sitting area with objects like glider, swings, benches and table and chairs to provide perfect relaxation in the warm afternoons.

The growing of plants inside the gazebo makes sure that the gazebo is a part of the garden only. If you want to grow plants inside the gazebo, select them after prudent thought. Before selecting any plants, you should have an adequate amount of knowledge about what the growing conditions for certain plants are. This helps you in placing plants at the right location. Furthermore, the growth statistics i.e. the future height and width of all the plants should be clear to you. Make sure that any one of them does not overgrow, swamping the entire gazebo not leaving space for any other plants.
