Underfloor heating is the best option if you are looking to lower your energy bills.  There are many types of under floor heating products available, so you may want to have a look at the different options to see which products are the most suitable for you.

One popular option is a cable mat.  Cable mats are suitable for use in most rooms in your home, but are especially easy to install in rectangular or square rooms.  These mats usually come with a thermostat and built in timer.  This will allow you to save energy by controlling how long you use your heating.  There are cable mats that are designed for particular types of floors, such as laminate wood floors, so be sure to choose a mat that is suitable for your home.  Failure to obtain the correct cable mat may cause problems with the installation.

Another option is a cable kit.  Cable kits may be a more favourable option if you need underfloor heating products that will fit rooms of any shape or size.  These, like the cable mat, usually come with a thermostat and can easily be taped down to facilitate tiling.  Some cable kits offer adhesive tape for this specific purpose.  Investing in a cable monitor may also be a good idea if you decide to opt for this type of underfloor heating.  Cable monitors are extremely useful as they indicate whether or not a cable is damaged.  They can be installed at the same time as the cable kit.
