The purchase of a new bed is something that should not be taken lightly. When you consider the fact that you will be spending night after night sleeping–or at least trying to–in it, you will understand the need to have a good, dependable bed that provides adequate comfort and support.
If you have the chance, try out your planned purchase beforehand. With so many different types of beds and mattresses, ranging from day beds and divans to bunk beds and metal beds, there is no way to know how a bed will feel until you try it out for yourself.
In the shop, take your time in choosing a bed that you feel will give you the rest that you need. Don’t allow yourself to be rushed into making a choice. Remember: a bed can be a hefty investment and you will be the one to sleep in it, so it is important to get the best one you can afford.
There is a way to choose a bed with regard to its ability to provide firmness and support. Lie down on the bed and place your hand under your lower back. Now try to move your hand from this position. If it moves freely, then the bed may be too firm. If you have trouble moving your hand, the bed may be too soft. Ideally, you will want a mattress that allows you to remove your hand–but not too easily–thereby ensuring you maximum comfort and support.

That’s a good tip for buying a new bed well the Mattress anyway. If you’re buying a double bed I’d spend over £200 as this will almost rid your selection of the budget beds.
Both buying the bed frame and the mattress are equally important. A cheap bed frame will soon ruin a good mattress, and a bad mattress will soon stop you sleeping
